Kuta beach boys currently feel unpleasant since the documentary movie titled cowboys in paradise, directed by Amit Virani, an Indian, Singapore nationality have sparked controversy over the existence of Kuta beach boys. The Movie has uploaded on Youtube.com and considered has made a bad name on Bali as destination for tourists who come from all over the world.

Meanwhile the beach boys also feel that their routine activity of selling beverages and as surfing instructors are distracted, following the negative opinion from local people and government over their activities. Now, they gathered and asking for their names rehabilitated and declined to be called gigolo like the images featured on the Amit Virani documentary movie on youtube.com.

Agus, a coordinator of the beach boys said that Kuta beach boys daily could earn moneys from selling beverages and as surfing instructors from Rp. 100 thousand (USD 10.86) until Rp. 500 thousand (US$ 54.35). "And these moneys are more that just enough for us to feed our life without has to be a gigolo." He said.

He also do not push aside the possibility of relationship between female tourist and beach boys could happen as long as it runs appropriately and in natural ways. "But again, we are not gigolo and do not want to engage on this kind of activity. Neither of These beach boys are offering such sex services to any tourists female in Kuta beach" He added firmly.
