Bali face Blackouts

Bali recent electric shortages that result to rotation black out in the Bali Island and other islands of Indonesia, are affecting to loss of profits for home stay and bungalows hotel owners in the region of Karangasem and Candidasa, east of Bali island. These small lodging hotel owners were complaining the effect due to rotating blackout held by PLN (State Power board) at their region. They also complained the electric blackout could damage electronics devices such as coolers, televisions and computers, especially since these small hotels are dependent to the consistent of state’s electric power supply and could not afford to buy for expensive generator sets than their big hotels neighbors.

State power board has planned the blackout rotations in Bali for reason of maintenance and repairs for Gilimanuk straits generating stations. These blackouts will continue until November 2009.
