Local chief of regents and majors overrules Balis governor bills.
Category: news
Recent rejection over the bills of Bali region development bank of new zoning arrangement (RTRW Rancangan Tata Ruang Wilayah) proposed by Bali governor, Mr Mangku Pastika, by local government was not surprising Him. Especially since some of these local government officers are clearly against the governor bills. One example is the approval made for Villa development in Mimba, Karangasem by local government of Karangasem, event though the property project complained by local people due to violation against the environment preservation.

Some Villa projects built at other areas are also violating the environment preservation still be approved by the local government though it has been complained by local people of Pancasari, Buleleng and Tabanan, regions of Bali.

The rejection and violation against the bills were related to different perception translated by local governments and central Bali’s government over the autonomy rights where local authorities believe they can independently control over their own respective region based on the economic interests.

These chief of regions and majors have sent their complains against the governor bills to the minister of internal affairs. They also stated that the bills that rules distance between shore line that must be stand 100 meters away from the hotel property built are not make senses and difficult to be implemented since investors are wishing to build their property near by the shorelines. They are afraid these investors will not invest their business at their land due to this rules.

Since the tourism sectors become the economic backbone for several regions in Bali, other outback regions where though that the tourism business will generate their economic faster than agriculture that for years have become economic backbone for that regions.

However, It has been proofed also that some investors are failed to build the property at the land they have purchased due to big capital investments they must spend.
Hundreds of lands of rice field purchased are leaving unattended by investors in Tanah Lot, Pantai Nyanyi and Yeh Gangga are the example of these failures.
